Type: Contract Days £16.40 Per Hour
Travel Requirement: Ideally live within 1 hour of depot

🔧 Your Role & Impact

Perform mechanical maintenance and repair on Class 185 train units to meet production schedules
Conduct mechanical fault diagnosis, including fault downloads and basic troubleshooting
Operate depot driving within site limits
Source, order, and retrieve necessary spares and materials
Support with rolling stock cleaning and upkeep
Identify continuous improvement opportunities and share best practices with peers🧰 What You Bring

Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent mechanical experience / NVQ Level 2 Equivalent
Background in mechanical fault-finding and repairs (on heavy rolling stock, vehicles, or machinery)
Competency in using laptops for diagnostic testing and mechanical diagnostics
Experience with documenting maintenance activities and following technical procedures
Understanding of tools, PPE care, H&S, biohazards, manual handling, and COSHH
