Accountancy
Immediate Start
£30k - £35k Annual
Full-Time
Ready to see where your accounting skills can take you beyond practice?

If you're currently working in accountancy practice and considering your first move into industry, or you've gained experience within an SME finance team and are looking for broader exposure, this could be exactly the opportunity you've been waiting for.

You'll be joining a well-established and highly respected Teesside organisation with interests across multiple businesses. It's the kind of company where people build long-term careers, develop new skills and grow steadily over time.

Reporting to an experienced Financial Controller, you'll gain exposure to management accounting, financial reporting and wider commercial finance activities across a number of businesses. You'll be supported as you develop your knowledge, take on new responsibilities and build a broader understanding of finance in a commercial environment.

Why this opportunity stands out

Not every finance role offers a clear path for development.

Whether you're looking to make the move from practice into industry or continue building on your existing finance experience, this role offers the chance to learn from experienced colleagues, gain exposure to multiple businesses and develop skills that will serve you throughout your career.

The business has a long-term outlook and values people who want to grow with it. If you're looking for a role where you can build solid foundations rather than be rushed into the next step, you'll feel at home here.

What you'll be doing

Assisting with the preparation of month-end accounts
Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules
Supporting VAT returns and financial reporting
Posting journals and maintaining financial records
Supporting process improvements and ad-hoc financial analysis
Providing day-to-day support across the finance function

We'd love to hear from you if you have

Part-qualified ACCA, AAT qualified or currently studying towards a professional accounting qualification
Experience gained within accountancy practice or a finance role within an SME environment
Good Excel and Microsoft Office skills
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
A proactive approach and willingness to learn

Interested?

Apply today or contact Natalie at Paul Card Recruitment for a confidential discussion. Even if your CV isn't completely up to date, we'd still be happy to have an initial conversation and tell you more about the opportunity
