Quantity Surveyor – South Wales (Cardiff Area)

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of projects across South Wales, an established and forward-thinking interior systems specialist is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its expanding commercial team in the Cardiff region. The company is a specialist contractor delivering high-quality interior construction solutions across commercial and residential sectors. The business focuses on drywall, partitions, ceilings, and bespoke fit-out systems, combining technical expertise with efficient project delivery. Known for reliability and collaboration, it supports clients from design through to completion on projects of varying scale and complexity.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality projects across commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments, working with a business known for its collaborative approach and consistent project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the commercial management of multiple projects from pre-construction through to final account
Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and cost reports
Oversee procurement processes, including subcontractor negotiation and appointment
Monitor project performance, ensuring financial targets and margins are achieved
Identify, manage, and mitigate commercial risks
Handle valuations, variations, and final accounts with clients and subcontractors
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior commercial staff
Maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal teams

Requirements

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within drywall, partitions, ceilings, or interior fit-out sectors
Strong commercial awareness with a track record of delivering profitable projects
Excellent negotiation and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Relevant degree or professional qualification (e.g., Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management)
Membership of a recognised professional body (e.g., RICS or equivalent) is desirable
