We are recruiting a Senior Support Worker to join our service in Ringmer, East Sussex, supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health needs. About the Service – Ashring House

Ashring is a small 6 bedded house in the beautiful village of Ringmer, the community of the village are very welcoming and inviting. Ashring supports 6 service users with physical and learning disabilities.

Ashring hold in house activities for the service users such as arts and crafts as well walks weekly to local dementia club in Ringmer and enjoy using public transport for days out too.

It is very important to Ashring that staff work closely with the clients of Ashring house and support them into the community and mix with people and participate in community life.

Ashring is a happy home and communication is very important to all that work and live here.

Staff support clients to live an everyday life, to be as independent as possible and to offer choice and respect dignity at all times.

The Role

You will:

Deliver person-centred support in line with individual with support plans
Assist with daily living skills and personal care where required
Promote independence, dignity and wellbeing
Support activities, appointments, and community access
Maintain accurate records and work effectively as part of a team
Work a rota including evenings, weekends, bank holiday and sleep-ins

Who We’re Looking For

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated senior professional who leads with compassion, patience, and respect. You will bring a positive, resilient approach and be confident supporting both individuals and colleagues. Strong communication skills, sound judgement, and the ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively within a team are essential. Reliability, flexibility, and competent IT and written skills are also important to this role.

Requirements

NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is essential.
Experience in supporting adults with challenging behaviour, learning disabilities and/or mental health issues.
The ability to keep calm under pressure.
Confidence to work alone and as part of a team.
Excellent communication skills.
The passion to work with vulnerable Adults.
The desire and commitment to achieve high standards of safeguarding.
