Location: Ruston Works, Lincoln
Pay Rate: £17.44 per hour + shift allowance (where applicable)
Working Pattern: 5 days on-site, rotating shifts (6:00am-2:15pm / 2:00pm-10:15pm) - Flexibility required
Contract Length: 6-month rolling contract (potential to go permanent)
Overview
We're looking for a CMM Operator to join a busy, high-precision manufacturing environment in Lincoln. This is an excellent opportunity to join a quality-focused team working on complex engineering components, with full training provided.
This role is ideal for someone with a background in manufacturing who enjoys hands-on work, attention to detail, and working in a structured, methodical environment. Whether you already have CMM experience or are looking to build new skills, this role offers real development potential.
Key Responsibilities
Load components onto CMM machines and run pre-set programmes
Operate CMM equipment in line with established procedures
Clean and prepare components for inspection
Monitor machine cycles (some programmes can run up to 1 hour)
Carry out visual and manual inspections for defects or damage
Record and review inspection data for accuracy and completeness
Escalate any machine or process issues to engineering teams
Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with H&S guidelines
Support additional training activities (e.g. slinging - provided)
Key Skills & Experience
Essential:
Experience working in a manufacturing or engineering environment
Strong attention to detail and methodical approach
Basic IT skills (e.g. Microsoft Office / internal systems)
Physically able to stand for extended periods and handle components
Positive attitude and ability to work both independently and in a team
Desirable:
Previous experience with CMM machines or inspection processes
Background in precision engineering environments (e.g. aerospace, energy, automotive)
Understanding of basic engineering or measurement principles
