Transport Planner
Location: Doncaster
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: £30000 to £32000
Are you ready to shape the future of transport operations in a brand-new facility? We’re seeking a proactive Transport Planner to join our Operations team in Doncaster. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in coordinating and optimising the movement of cable products, ensuring customers receive their orders efficiently and on time.
What You’ll Do
* Develop and implement efficient transport schedules to guarantee timely deliveries
* Optimise route planning to reduce costs and improve performance
* Monitor daily transport operations and resolve logistical challenges
* Coordinate with both internal fleet and external logistics partners
* Liaise with warehouse teams to align dispatch schedules
* Ensure accurate documentation for shipments (invoices, delivery notes)
* Manage transport-related issues such as delays, damages, and customer complaints
* Monitor and control transport costs, analysing data to drive improvements
* Implement sustainable and eco-friendly transport solutions
* Ensure compliance with regulations and company policies
* Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures
What We’re Looking For
* Experience in transport planning, logistics, or distribution
* Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work collaboratively with warehouse teams, drivers, and external partners
* Knowledge of compliance and safety standards in transport operations
* Analytical mindset with a focus on cost efficiency and sustainability
* Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
