We are seeking an experienced Project Planner (Outside IR35) to join a major UK infrastructure and construction project based in the Durham area on a contract basis.
This role offers the opportunity to support the delivery of a nationally significant engineering project, working within a multidisciplinary project team responsible for planning, monitoring, and reporting on key construction activities.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and update detailed project programmes using Primavera P6.
Produce integrated construction schedules and progress reporting information.
Monitor project performance against programme baselines.
Identify programme risks, delays, and opportunities, providing mitigation strategies where required.
Conduct critical path analysis and support project recovery planning activities.
Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports for project and client stakeholders.
Support change control processes and assess the programme impact of variations.
Work closely with engineering, procurement, construction, and commercial teams to ensure alignment across project activities.
Participate in planning and progress review meetings.
Assist with forecasting and project controls activities.
Essential Requirements
Demonstrable experience as a Project Planner within construction, infrastructure, utilities, energy, or civil engineering sectors.
Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6.
Strong understanding of project planning principles and Critical Path Methodology (CPM).
Experience developing and maintaining complex project schedules.
Excellent analytical and reporting skills.
Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Desirable Requirements
Experience working on major infrastructure, power, utilities, transmission, or renewable energy projects.
Familiarity with NEC forms of contract.
Knowledge of earned value management and project controls.
Experience using Power BI or similar reporting tools.
Relevant engineering, construction, or project management qualification.
