We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist provision in Tonbridge supporting children and young people with profound and complex special educational needs.

This role is ideal for someone with a care background who is passionate about providing personalised support to pupils with complex physical disabilities, severe learning difficulties, and associated medical needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide high-quality support with personal care, feeding, mobility, and medical routines

Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum through personalised, therapeutic approaches

Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and healthcare professionals to deliver integrated care and education

Support pupils' communication using various methods, including Makaton, PECS, or other augmentative communication systems (training provided)

Help create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment

Person Specification:

Experience in a care role supporting individuals with complex needs is highly desirable

Demonstrates patience, empathy, and resilience when working with children with profound disabilities

Willingness to learn educational strategies and therapeutic techniques

Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

Commitment to providing person-centred support that promotes dignity and independence

Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care) are advantageous but not essential

Term Time Teachers are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, therefore all applicants will be subject to a full face-to-face registration and an Enhanced DBS (Formerly known as CRB)
