Main responsibilities
Lead the kitchen during your shift and supervise kitchen assistants.
Prepare and cook meals to approved menus and recipes.
Cater for special dietary needs, including modified diets and thickened fluids.
Adapt menus to meet residents' preferences and dietary requirements.
Serve meals in appropriate portions.
Maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene standards.
Follow food safety procedures and keep accurate records (temperatures, stock, wastage, etc.).
Monitor stock levels and help with ordering and storage.

Experience cooking for groups, ideally in a care home, healthcare, school, or similar setting.
Knowledge of food hygiene and food safety.
Understanding of special diets (e.g., diabetic, texture-modified, allergen-aware meals).
