Warehouse Operative
Our award-winning client based in the South Shropshire countryside is looking for a full-time warehouse operative to join their hardworking and friendly team.
You will be assisting in handling our varied and interesting products, which involves outdoor work due to the location in a farming environment.
Your main tasks will be picking and packing orders for dispatch, replenishing picking bays, prepacking items and restoring products. Our products are varied in shape, size and weight and predominantly made from metal and wood, so the role involves heavy lifting which can be physically demanding. Additionally, containers need careful unloading, as do various delivery vehicles arriving on site.
It is important that you have a good eye for detail and take care in your work, as they pride themselves on the customer service offered, which includes how goods are packed and dispatched for our valued customers. You will be liaising closely with the Sales team to ensure all customer demands are met and orders are sent out in a timely manner. Quality control of stock going out is also a key part of the role, as is dealing with all paperwork and labelling correctly. It is a fast-paced environment, and everyone understands what needs to happen to continue the company's growth.
Duties may also include participating in projects within the business at different sites, on occasion. You may very occasionally be required to assist with customer deliveries and installations of our larger items, in other areas of the country. There may also be the opportunity to assist with the build and break of our show stands during the busy May/June show season, at places such as Malvern and Chelsea, which could involve overnight stays.
Ideal Candidate
Experience to accurately pick and pack varied stock items
Attention to detail and ability to multi-task
Work in a team but also able to use your own initiative to work independently
Perform in a fast-paced, outdoor environment
Capability to perform heavy lifting duties
previous experience in a warehouse environment is advantageous
Desired Skills
