An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced ServiceNow ITSM Developer to take ownership of a critical enterprise platform. You'll be responsible for ensuring the stability, scalability, and ongoing optimisation of ServiceNow, with a strong focus on out-of-the-box (OOTB) configuration over customisation.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining technical delivery, governance, and stakeholder collaboration while driving best practice across the platform.
Platform Ownership
- Maintain the health, performance, and scalability of the ServiceNow platform
- Manage upgrades, testing cycles, and remediation of issues
- Oversee integrations, MID Servers, and platform life cycle activities
Development & Configuration
- Deliver solutions using a configuration-first approach (UI Policies, Business Rules, Flow Designer, etc.)
- Develop custom solutions only where justified by clear business need
- Build and maintain integrations (REST, SOAP, webhooks, identity platforms, etc.)
Governance & Best Practice
- Enforce platform standards including naming conventions, update set management, and security controls
- Support data model integrity and alignment with best practice frameworks (eg, ITIL, CSDM)
- Contribute to architectural decisions and platform direction
Quality & Operations
- Own CI/CD pipelines, automated testing (ATF), and deployment controls
- Ensure regression testing and platform reliability
- Monitor performance, manage technical debt, and maintain operational excellence
Collaboration
- Work closely with Product Owners and stakeholders to shape backlog and requirements
- Provide technical guidance, peer reviews, and knowledge sharing across the team
About You
- Proven experience in ServiceNow development and/or administration (approx. 2-4 years)
- Strong knowledge of ITSM processes (Incident, Change, Problem, Request, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with configuration-first development approaches
- Exposure to integrations, testing frameworks, and CI/CD practices
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Desirable:
- ITIL v4 Foundation
- ServiceNow certifications (CSA, CAD, or specialist certifications)
