Trainee Fall Protection / Height Safety Engineer

Location: Rochester – Covering London & South East

Salary: Up to £35,000 DOE + Overtime

Contract: Full Time, Permanent

The Opportunity

Looking to get into a specialist engineering role with full training provided?

A well-established, family-owned height safety specialist is recruiting a Trainee Fall Protection Engineer to join their team based in Rochester.

The company regularly works across commercial sites throughout London and the South East, installing and maintaining fall protection and access systems.

This is a great opportunity for someone practical and hands-on who is comfortable working at height and wants to build a long-term career in a specialist industry.

This role would suit candidates from backgrounds such as:

* Fibre broadband installation

* Telecoms engineering

* Phone line installation

* Open reach engineering

* Satellite or aerial installation

* Roofing or construction labouring

* Any hands-on role involving ladders, harnesses or working at height

* Full training will be provided, including support towards a Level 3 industry qualification.

What's on offer:

* Up to £35,000 salary, depending on experience

* Overtime: time and a half (Monday to Saturday), double time (Sunday)

* Full training provided

* 38.5-hour week, including paid lunch

* Early finish on Fridays

* Mostly London & South East work – minimal working away & no building site work

* 31 days holiday, increasing with service

The role:

* Work alongside experienced engineers on-site

* Assist with the installation and maintenance of fall protection systems

* Work on lifelines, handrails, fixed ladders, gantries and access systems

* Travel to sites across London & the South East

* Follow safe working practices and site procedures

* Learn inspection, maintenance and repair techniques within the industry Work alongside experienced engineers on site

What they're looking for:

Full UK manual driving licence essential

Confident working at height

Practical and hands-on attitude

Keen to learn and develop new skills

Good communication and reliability
