Job Description

Job Title: Repair Design Engineer

Location: Bristol - Hybrid (Minimum 3 Days On-Site Per Week)
Working Pattern: Full Time

As a Repair Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting operational Defence customers and Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) facilities. You will be responsible for developing, validating, and implementing innovative repair solutions that extend the life of mission-critical components. Working with advanced aerospace technology, you will ensure that Rolls-Royce engines remain operational, efficient, and cost-effective.

This role offers the opportunity to work on a huge diversity of products, including engines such as Adour, EJ200, RB199, Gem, Gnome, Viper, Spey, MTR390, MT30, Pegasus, TP400, MRTT, and WR21. What You Will Be Doing

As a Repair Design Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering technical solutions that support the repair and maintenance of critical aerospace components. Key responsibilities include:
Defining, developing, and substantiating Repair Instructions and coordinating implementation at internal and external Repair suppliers.

Establishing acceptance standards for service-run components and supporting MRO operations in hardware disposition.

Collaborating with Materials Repair Technology teams to develop and apply innovative repair and inspection technologies.

Identifying opportunities to reduce repair costs and improve component reliability.

Driving continuous improvement in processes and tools used for developing and supporting repair instructions.

To be successful in this role, you should have:
A degree in a STEM subject or relevant engineering experience (Mechanical, Aeronautical, Electrical, or Controls).

A broad understanding of gas turbine technologies (training can be provided).

Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Experience using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software.

The ability to manage multiple delivery commitments across different customers and timelines.
