Job Title: Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer
Location: Irvine , Scotland
Salary: £45,000 - £49,000
Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent | Shift-Based
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a busy manufacturing operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing production equipment, ensuring maximum uptime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot production and process manufacturing equipment.
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities.
Respond to maintenance requests and prioritise workload effectively.
Support production by minimising downtime and maximising equipment performance.
Participate in an on-call rota as required.
Complete engineering projects assigned by management.
Work closely with suppliers to improve service levels and reduce costs.
Maintain high standards of housekeeping and workplace safety.
Ensure compliance with quality, health & safety, and site procedures.
About You
Qualified Mechanical or Electrical Engineer (HNC/HND, Time-Served Apprenticeship, or equivalent).
Experience within manufacturing, engineering, FMCG, GMP, or similar high-volume production environments.
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
Knowledge of PLCs, inverters, electrical controls, and pneumatic systems.
Experience using CMMS or electronic maintenance management systems is advantageous.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexible approach to working hours and shift patterns.
Strong communication skills and commitment to safe working practices.
Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Experience
Multi-skilled engineering background.
Experience working on COMAH-regulated sites.
Previous experience in continuous-process manufacturing environments.
Minimum 3 years' relevant engineering experience.
