The company

From our sites in Lincoln, Scotland and the Southwest, we supply some of the largest retail, wholesale and food manufacturing customers in the UK.

Our expertise goes much further than just supply and demand. We offer our customers real innovation, whether developing new potato varieties, packaging solutions or cutting-edge processes. And it’s not just fresh potatoes. We're also continually developing our great range of innovative, ready-to-cook prepared vegetables.

At Branston we thrive to be the best, through our values and invest in our people. This is a fast-paced environment and looking for someone who is adaptable in their approach.

The role

The Demand Planner is responsible for developing accurate demand forecasts to support inventory management and production planning across all categories. Using sales data, trends and business insights, you will incorporate promotions, seasonal demand and new product launches into planning activities while contributing to the continuous improvement of forecasting processes and team performance.

What you will be doing?

* Develop demand forecasts using historical data, trends and customer insight

* Monitor forecasts to ensure accuracy, especially around launches, peaks and promotional periods

* Review capacity models to ensure forecasted volumes do not pose a risk to supply

* Work closely with procurement and production teams to avoid shortages or overstocks

* Build relationships with customer teams to develop collaborative forecasting across businesses

* Use analysis to inform and support commercial forecasts for costings

* Undertake deeper analysis of forecasts to suggest potential opportunities or risks to the business

* Develop and maintain reports for relevant KPIs as required

* Undertake any other reasonable duties as required to support the smooth operation of the production and planning function

* Lead, coach, and develop a small team, embedding best practices and driving continuous improvement across forecasting and planning activities

What we want from you?

* Experience working in a demand planning role within the food manufacturing sector

* Strong understanding of supply chain, capacity modelling, and manufacturing processes

* Proficient Excel skills and familiarity with statistical forecasting methods

* Experience using forecasting tools and ERP systems

* Strong organisation and time management skills, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities

* Previous experience of managing and mentoring a team

We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. If you need any reasonable adjustments during the recruitment process, please let us know
