About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and hands-on Shop Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our store and deliver an exceptional customer experience. This role is ideal for someone passionate about retail, food, and Japanese culture, with strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
As Shop Supervisor, you will support store performance by ensuring smooth operations, maintaining high visual and service standards, and leading the team to achieve sales and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver excellent customer service and create a welcoming shopping experience.
* Supervise, support, train, and motivate team members to achieve sales and service targets.
* Handle customer queries, complaints, and special requests professionally.
* Promote Japanese food, drinks, and retail products through strong product knowledge and upselling.
* Act as a brand ambassador and maintain high service standards at all times.
* Support daily store operations including opening/closing procedures, cash handling, and stock control.
* Monitor inventory levels, organise stock, and ensure timely replenishment.
* Conduct regular stock rotation and date checks to maintain product quality.
* Maintain high visual merchandising standards and attractive product displays.
* Support seasonal campaigns, promotions, and in-store sales initiatives.
* Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, health, and safety regulations.
* Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across customer and backstage areas.
* Follow safe manual handling and company operational procedures.
* Ensure effective communication within the team and support a positive working environment.
What we are looking out for
* Previous experience in a supervisory role within a fast-paced retail, hospitality, or food environment.
* Passion for delivering excellent customer service.
* Strong communication and team leadership skills.
* Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment.
* Good organisational and problem-solving skills.
* Knowledge of Japanese Language
* Knowledge of Japanese food, products, or culture.
Desirable
* Food Hygiene and Health & Safety knowledge/certification.
* Experience in stock control and visual merchandising.
Additional Information
* This role may require working across different Japan Centre Group locations when required.
* Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays is essential.
* Training will be provided where necessary.
