Job Title: Electrician / Harness Builder
Location: Barton Under Needwood
Duration: 6 months min
Hours: 7am-4pm Mon to Thurs, 7am to 1pm Friday.
Own transport is recommended due to location.
Our client based in Barton Under Needwood, require an experienced Harness Builder to start asap, for at least 6 months work.
The Role:
The role of the Electrician/Harness builder is to ensure that all items are manufactured/repaired in accordance with current drawing/instruction to a high standard.
Responsibilities:
* Responsible for ensuring your own health and safety and that of others and promoting a positive health and safety culture within the workplace
* Ensure all Health and safety obligations are met, and company policies are adhered to
* Report any safety concerns, hazard observations, accidents and incidents by the end of that shift to allow full investigation and prevent re-occurrence
*To ensure business activities support the maintenance of the company's ISO (9001, 14001 and 45001) standards and certification.
* Manufacture conduit and concentric layered harnesses.
* Repair parts and equipment when needed.
* Inspect and repair harnesses, control cabinets and electrical items of train power packs and transmissions.
* Order parts and equipment as necessary.
* Complete all documentation and receipts, including inspection sheets, and apply signatures as appropriate.
* Identify repairs required via unfair wear and tear and advise the Electrical Team Leader.
* Undertake training as and when required.
* Work within a realistic timeframe.
* To have good knowledge of automotive electrical systems and manufacturing harnesses.
* To work to, and support, all relevant 5S activities
* Ensure that standard preventive measure is applied when maintenance is done on all electrical equipment.
* Ensure that waste is disposed of in the correct manner
* Mentor trainees / apprentices when applicable.
* To follow written or verbal instruction.
Background & Experience:
* The ability to work within a changing environment, working to deadlines and short lead times.
* To always adhere to the company's Health, Safety & Environmental instructions and requirements.
* To take on any other reasonable responsibilities or tasks that are within the employee's skills and abilities
Qualifications/Education Required:
* NVQ Level 3 Electrical Engineering or higher or working towards - Preferred
* Previous experience in rail or automotive industry - Preferred
