We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a highly respected vehicle salvage and parts recycler based in Thame, to appoint a skilled and reliable HGV Recovery Driver.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced HGV Recovery Drivers seeking a long-term career within a professional and well-established company operating for over 40 years, with the capacity to process more than 35,000 vehicles annually.
Benefits of a HGV Recovery Driver:
Salary ranging from £39,000 to £46,000 per annum, dependent on experience
Monthly bonus scheme earning approximately £2,000 to £2,500
Enhanced holiday entitlement increasing to 33 days including bank holidays
Full in-house training and ongoing career development opportunities
Company pension scheme with staff purchase discounts on automotive parts and petrol
Free on-site parking and provided work uniform
Working within a modern operational environment established for over four decadesDuties of a HGV Recovery Driver:
Collect accident-damaged and end-of-life vehicles from various locations, including bodyshops, garages, and private residences
Operate 4-car or 8-car transporter vehicles, depending on previous experience and qualifications
Cover a collection radius within approximately 50 miles of Thame
Use handheld PDA scanners and basic IT devices to accurately report vehicle collections
Ensure compliance with all health and safety guidelines and company policies
Work scheduled hours from 6:45am to 4:45pm, Monday to Friday, with alternating Saturdays for 8-car drivers on overtime
Maintain a high standard of safety, reliability, and professionalism during all tasksRequirements of a HGV Recovery Driver:
Valid C+E Class 1 (HGV) licence with minimal points
Current CPC certification
Category C licence considered if relevant experience in vehicle recovery and transportation
Experience with vehicle recovery and transportation preferred but not essential, as comprehensive training will be provided
Comfortable working with mobile devices, PDA scanners, and basic IT equipment
Reliable, enthusiastic, and capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced environment
