Mechanical Site Manager

Commercial CAT A Fit-Out

Salary: £60,000 - £65,000 + Package
Location: Central London

We are recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Site Manager to join a growing M&E contractor delivering a portfolio of commercial CAT A fit-out and decarbonisation projects across London and the South East.

This role will suit a hands-on Mechanical Site Manager with a strong background in commercial building services installations and a proven track record managing decarbonisation schemes, including air source heat pump (ASHP) installations, plantroom upgrades and energy efficiency projects.

The Role

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day mechanical installation activities on site, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme.

Key responsibilities include:

*

Managing mechanical subcontractors and direct labour on site.

*

Coordinating all mechanical building services installations.

*

Supervising CAT A commercial fit-out projects from first fix through to commissioning.

*

Managing decarbonisation works including air source heat pumps, low-carbon heating systems and plant replacement projects.

*

Conducting daily site inspections and ensuring works are completed to specification.

*

Monitoring progress against programme and reporting to project management teams.

*

Coordinating with electrical, construction and client teams to ensure smooth project delivery.

*

Managing quality assurance procedures and snagging activities.

*

Ensuring health & safety compliance and promoting best practice across site.

*

Supporting commissioning, witnessing and handover processes.

Requirements

*

Proven experience as a Mechanical Site Manager within the M&E contracting sector.

*

Strong commercial fit-out experience, ideally across CAT A and refurbishment projects.

*

Experience delivering decarbonisation projects within occupied commercial buildings.

*

Knowledge of air source heat pump installations and low-carbon heating technologies.

*

Good understanding of HVAC, LTHW, CHW, ventilation and public health systems.

*

Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.

*

Strong organisational and leadership skills.

*

Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

*

SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications essential.
