Maintenance Team Leader

Location: Nottingham/Sheffield – S80 Salary: £68,000 per year + OT + Enhanced holiday entitlement

Job type: Permanent, Full-time Shift: Rotating – 12-hour shifts (days & nights)

About the role

Our client are a true modern day British success story being initially founded by two friends only 10 years ago and growing into a £multi-million company within that time. From their manufacturing site based between Nottingham and Sheffield, they now employ over 600 people in a brand new fully automated site with R&D, manufacturing and distribution happening from the same site

Having gone from strength to strength, they’re looking to strengthen their Maintenance team on shift by adding a Maintenance Team Leader to work both hands-on and as a lead and guide for the team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly automated site with significant investment across engineering, continuous improvement and automation projects.

What you'll be doing

Working in teams of four, the successful Maintenance Team Leader will ultimately be responsible for the workflow of the team, delegating and distributing work orders both reactive and maintenance as well as providing hands on support across a large, automated plant.

Day to day responsibilities will include;

Acting as lead, being responsible for a team of 4 Maintenance Engineers across the shift
Fault finding and repairs on automated production machinery including PLC-controlled systems
Planned and reactive electrical and mechanical maintenance across the site
Working with conveyor systems, ovens, packaging machinery, robotic palletisers
Supporting continuous improvement and efficiency projects

What we're looking for

The successful Maintenance Team Leader will need to have;

NVQ Level 3 in Electrical OR Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Be a strong communicator and work well under time constraints/pressure
Previous experience of managing and leading a team of Engineers within a maintenance function
Strong fault-finding skills on automated machinery
Experience within a manufacturing environment
