Are you a manufacturing professional who enjoys working at the interface of engineering, purchasing, and commercial decision-making?

This role sits at the front end of the business, where you'll assess customer requirements, identify technical and commercial risks, and build accurate costing models that support competitive and manufacturable quotations.

What You'll Be Doing as a Cost Engineer

* Reviewing incoming RFQs and customer technical data to assess manufacturability and completeness
* Analysing Gerber files, BOMs, schematics, PCB data, and assembly drawings to identify risks or inconsistencies
* Highlighting DFM/DFT concerns, component obsolescence, and manufacturing constraints
* Working with internal engineering and supply chain teams to resolve technical queries
* Building detailed cost models covering materials, PCB fabrication, assembly, test, tooling, and logistics
* Producing accurate and commercially aligned quotations for electronics manufacturing projects
* Liaising with suppliers and distributors to obtain pricing, availability, and lead time information
* Identifying alternative components and cost-down opportunities where possible
* Monitoring component lifecycle status and supply chain risk factors
* Supporting sales and engineering teams with technical input during quotation and review stages

What We're Looking For as a Cost Engineer

* Experience within electronics manufacturing, PCB assembly, or EMS/CEM environments
* Good understanding of PCB manufacturing processes, SMT/THT assembly, and BOM structures

* Experience working with ERP/MRP or quotation systems
* Awareness of DFM/DFT principles and component lifecycle considerations
* Strong analytical ability with excellent attention to detail
* Comfortable managing multiple RFQs and working to tight deadlines
