Disrepair / Damp and Mould Surveyor

About the Role
We are recruiting for an experienced Disrepair / Damp and Mould Surveyor to join a leading social housing provider on a permanent basis. This is a great opportunity for a surveyor with strong experience in housing disrepair, damp and mould investigations, and a solid understanding of Awaab's Law.
You will manage a varied caseload of disrepair and damp and mould cases across a residential portfolio, ensuring homes are safe, compliant, and maintained to a high standard.
This is a resident-focused role requiring strong technical knowledge, case management skills, and the ability to deliver high-quality outcomes from inspection through to completion.
A driving licence is not required for this role, making it suitable for candidates who travel via public transport across South West London.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out inspections relating to disrepair, damp, mould, condensation, and building defects
Diagnose root causes and specify remedial works
Produce technical reports, defect analysis, and schedules of work
Manage disrepair and damp and mould cases through to resolution
Ensure compliance with Awaab's Law, housing legislation, and H&S requirements
Liaise with residents, contractors, legal teams, and internal stakeholders
Monitor contractor performance and inspect completed works
Support legal disrepair cases where required
Maintain accurate records and case progression
Essential Experience
Experience as a Surveyor within social housing, housing associations, or local authority
Strong background in disrepair, damp and mould, and building pathology
Experience working in line with Awaab's Law
Ability to produce technical reports and manage caseloads
Strong communication and stakeholder skills
Understanding of housing legislation and compliance
