Full-Time
We're recruiting a Procurement & Supply Chain Specialist on behalf of an innovative, growing technology business based in Waterbeach, Cambridge. This is a full-time, permanent position offering a salary of £35,000 – £40,000, and a genuine opportunity to play a key role in developing a high-performing, cost-effective international supply chain at an exciting time of growth for the business.

This is a varied, commercially focused role where no two days look the same. You'll work across supplier management, purchasing strategy, contract negotiation and continuous improvement — collaborating with stakeholders across the business and engaging with an international supply base. The role is fully office-based five days a week at the Cambridge HQ, so local candidates who can commute are strongly preferred. Some international travel is required, so a valid passport, full clean driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential — travel expenses will be covered.

Main Responsibilities:

* Managing key supplier accounts and scheduling materials to support customer demand

* Negotiating contracts and driving cost reduction across the supply base

* Processing purchase orders and managing lean inventory levels

* Ensuring materials are delivered on time to meet customer requirements

* Driving continuous improvement initiatives across the international supply base

* Identifying and assessing new supply sources to support cost reduction and quality improvement targets

* Supporting new product introduction activity and ensuring relevant process controls are in place

* Managing component obsolescence and monitoring commodity market movements

* Working with the Senior Buyer to define and implement purchasing strategy

* Contributing to supply chain development with a focus on total cost of acquisition

Skills/Experience:

* Supply chain or procurement experience within the electronics or telecommunications industries — essential

* Experience managing offshore contract manufacturing — essential

* Background supporting product development from concept through to volume manufacture

* Strong influencing and negotiation skills, with credibility at senior level internally and externally

* Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments and with international stakeholders

* Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and act decisively under pressure

* Highly motivated, results-driven and detail-oriented

* Level 4 CIPS Diploma, or actively working towards it

* Valid passport, full clean driving licence and own vehicle — essential

* Prepared to travel internationally as required

Salary & Working Hours:

£35,000 – £40,000 per annum, dependent on experience. Full-time, permanent position. Fully office-based five days per week at the Cambridge HQ. International travel required — travel expenses reimbursed.

Benefits:

* Competitive salary of £35,000 – £40,000 DOE

* Join an innovative technology business at an exciting stage of growth

* International travel opportunities with expenses covered

* Collaborative, cross-functional working environment

* Opportunity to develop and progress your procurement career within a specialist industry
