Marine Electrical Design Engineer
Open to various levels of experience, salary negotiable D.O.E
37.5 hrs/week, reports to Head of Design
Split between office-based design work and on-site commissioning/fault-finding
Occasional travel required

We're working with a well-established Marine R&D/ Manufacturing company in Hampshire who are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join the team. We're looking for someone demonstrable electrical design experience and strong fault-finding skills, ideally from a Marine background.
You will have:
Degree or Master's in Electrical Engineering (or related field)
Minimum 3 years in a similar role within the marine electronics industry
Electrical circuit design - AC/DC
Can create and interpret schematics, technical drawings, control panel and circuit diagrams
In-depth knowledge of marine electrical standards
Strong fault-finding - logical, methodical approach
Experience with electric motors, switching circuits, and motor controllers
EPLAN and AutoCAD for design/documentation
Good understanding of control system principles
Excellent communication, teamwork, and ability to self-manage workload
Willing to travel for on-site commissioning
Desired but not essential:
Marine CANbus systems - NMEA2000 and ruggedised sensors
Appreciation of PLC programming, particularly Siemens
CodeSys 3.5 experience
Knowledge of hydraulic systems
Understanding of marine product certification requirements
SIL Levels and design risk assessments
Practical marine experience (personal boating or professional)
