About the Role
We are seeking an outstanding and caring Teacher of English to join our Learning Division. You will teach with enthusiasm, expertise, and high expectations, supporting all learners to achieve their full potential.
You will report to the Learning Division Leader (Ignite) and play an active role in maintaining the ethos, standards, and success of the College.
Key Responsibilities
You will be expected to:
Deliver high-quality teaching across English, including up to Advanced Level
Plan lessons in line with college policy and schemes of work
Set ambitious and appropriate learning targets using assessment data
Monitor, assess, and report on student progress effectively
Maintain high standards of behaviour, punctuality, and engagement
Create a stimulating and purposeful learning environment
Differentiate effectively in collaboration with the Inclusion Team
Contribute to collaborative planning and curriculum development
Participate in appraisal and ongoing professional development
Provide cover for colleagues when required (rare and infrequent)
Support extracurricular activities and wider College life
Personal Qualities
The ideal candidate will be:
An excellent classroom practitioner with strong subject knowledge
Reflective, creative, and committed to continuous improvement
Highly organised with strong interpersonal skills
Resilient, enthusiastic, and able to work collaboratively
Committed to maintaining high standards for all students
