A high performing boutique construction consultancy is seeking an experienced Lead Fire Engineer to establish and lead a brand-new Fire Engineering service line.

This is a rare opportunity for a Lead Fire Engineer to build something meaningful from the ground up whilst benefiting from the security, reputation and existing client base of an established consultancy. With strong demand already coming from existing Building Surveying and Building Safety clients, the successful Lead Fire Engineer will be stepping into an opportunity with genuine momentum rather than starting from scratch.

The business has built an outstanding reputation across high-end residential, commercial and mixed-use developments and is now looking to expand its technical offering through the appointment of a senior Fire Engineering leader. For an ambitious Lead Fire Engineer, this role offers the chance to influence company strategy, shape a service line and become a key figure within the firm's future leadership structure.

The Lead Fire Engineer Role

The successful Lead Fire Engineer will take ownership of the Fire Engineering function, combining technical leadership, client engagement and commercial responsibility.

Key responsibilities include:

Lead the development and growth of the Fire Engineering division
* Establish and implement the long-term strategy for Fire Engineering services
* Act as the senior technical authority across Fire Engineering projects
* Oversee fire strategies, technical reports and fire safety advice
* Support façade, remediation, EWS1 and wider Building Safety services
* Develop and maintain relationships with clients, developers, consultants and contractors
* Drive business development, networking and work-winning activities
* Lead fee proposals, commercial negotiations and project delivery standards
* Recruit, mentor and develop future Fire Engineering team members
* Work closely with Building Surveying and Building Safety teams on multidisciplinary commissions
* Contribute to company growth plans and market positioning
* Ensure projects are delivered profitably and to the highest technical standardsThe Lead Fire Engineer

Significant experience within a Fire Engineering consultancy environment
* Degree qualified in Fire Engineering or a related discipline
* Strong understanding of UK fire legislation, guidance and standards
* Proven ability to manage client relationships and deliver complex projects
* Commercially aware with experience managing project performance and profitability
* Demonstrable business development and work-winning experience
* Strong leadership, mentoring and team development capability
* Excellent communication, report writing and stakeholder management skills
* Chartered Fire Engineer status desirable (or working closely towards)In Return?
