We are seeking an experienced MIG Welder to join a busy fabrication team working on metal structures and components. The successful candidate will perform high-quality MIG welding to drawings and specifications, produce clean, accurate welds, and contribute to maintaining a safe, efficient workshop environment.
Job Title: MIG Welder
Pay: £15 per hour
Location: Speke
Hours: Mon-Fri 8am-4.30pm
Key responsibilities:
- Perform MIG (GMAW) welding on mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium as required
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, templates and welding procedures
- Prepare materials for welding (cutting, grinding, fit-up, tacking) and ensure correct joint preparation
- Inspect finished welds and carry out quality checks to ensure compliance with specifications and tolerances
- Keep accurate production and quality records and log time/materials where required
- Work safely and follow site-specific health and safety procedures; wear PPE at all times
- Collaborate with fabrication team, supervisors and inspectors to meet production schedules
Essential skills and experience:
- Proven experience as a MIG welder in a manufacturing, fabrication or construction environment
- Solid ability to produce clean, structurally sound welds on various metals using MIG process
- Competent in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and weld symbols
- Knowledge of welding safety practices and use of PPE
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities
