Contract: Full-time | Long-term (continuing into the 2026/27 academic year)
Pay: £95-£115 per day

A friendly and inclusive primary school in the West Norwood area of Lambeth is looking to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a pupil with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD).

This Teaching Assistant role offers the opportunity to build a consistent and supportive relationship with a pupil who requires additional help accessing the curriculum within a mainstream classroom. Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO, the successful Teaching Assistant will help adapt learning activities, reinforce key concepts and encourage independence throughout the school day.

The school is known for its nurturing approach, strong pastoral support and commitment to inclusion. Staff work collaboratively, and support staff are valued members of the wider school team.

Key Responsibilities

Providing one-to-one support for a pupil with MLD
Adapting learning tasks to support engagement and understanding
Encouraging independence and confidence in the classroom
Supporting literacy and numeracy development
Liaising closely with teachers, SEN staff and parents where appropriate

The Ideal Candidate

The school is looking for a Teaching Assistant who:

Has experience supporting pupils with additional learning needs
Is patient, encouraging and adaptable
Can build strong relationships with children
Has good literacy and numeracy skills
Is committed to helping pupils achieve their potentialPrevious SEN experience is desirable, but the school will also consider strong Teaching Assistant candidates with relevant transferable experience.
