Public Liaison Officer – Cycleway Project (Slough)

Location: Slough

Project: Urban Cycleway / Active Travel Infrastructure

Contract: Umbrella

Start Date: ASAP

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Public Liaison Officer to support a major cycleway construction project in Slough. This role is critical in maintaining positive relationships with local residents, businesses, and stakeholders throughout the construction phase.

Key Responsibilities

Act as the primary point of contact between the project team and the public

Manage public inquiries, concerns, and complaints related to construction activities

Communicate upcoming works, traffic management changes, noise, and access impacts

Prepare and distribute public notices, newsletters, and updates

Liaise with Slough Borough Council, local stakeholders, and emergency services

Attend community meetings, site walkabouts, and stakeholder briefings

Maintain accurate records of communications and issue resolution

Work closely with the construction team to proactively reduce community impact

Essential Requirements

Previous experience in a Public Liaison, Community Engagement, or Communications role, ideally within construction or infrastructure

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to handle complaints diplomatically and professionally

Organised, self-motivated, and confident working independently

Good understanding of health & safety and site environments

Proficient in Microsoft Office (or similar tools)
