Quantum Scholars is seeking compassionate, adaptable, and engaging SEN Tutors to provide tailored 1:1 support for pupils accessing alternative provision across Wokingham and the wider Berkshire area.
This is a highly rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people by helping them overcome barriers to learning, build confidence, and re-engage positively with education.
We welcome applications from experienced tutors, teachers, learning mentors, SEN specialists, youth workers, pastoral staff, HLTAs, TAs, and other professionals with experience supporting children and young people with additional needs.
About the Role
You will deliver personalised 1:1 tuition and intervention support to primary and secondary-aged pupils who are currently unable to access mainstream education.
Many of the learners we support may have needs relating to:
SEND
Autism (ASC)
ADHD
SEMH needs
Behavioural challenges
School refusal and anxiety
Medical needsSessions take place during school hours and are delivered either in the pupil's home or within suitable community settings.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging and tailored 1:1 tutoring sessions
Support pupils academically, socially, and emotionally
Build positive and trusting relationships with young people
Help students develop confidence, resilience, and engagement in learning
Adapt teaching methods and resources to meet individual needs
Provide support in core subjects, including English and Maths
Encourage structure, routine, and positive learning habits

An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Full Right to Work in the UK
Ability to travel to in-person sessions across Wokingham and surrounding areasQualified Teacher Status (QTS) and formal teaching qualifications are desirable but not essential. A degree in a relevant subject area would be advantageous.
