Care Assistant

Location: Cupar, Fife
Shifts: 08:00 – 20:00 and 20:00 – 08:00
Pay Rate: £12.71 - £13.35 per hour.

Our client is seeking compassionate and dedicated Care Assistants to join their growing team.

You will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for residents, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being in a supportive and respectful environment. This position requires a caring attitude and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

Assist residents with daily personal care activities, including washing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
Support residents with mobility, including the use of hoists and walking aids where required.
Serve meals and provide assistance with eating and drinking when necessary.
Monitor residents' health and wellbeing, reporting any changes to senior staff or nursing colleagues.
Encourage and support residents to participate in social and recreational activities.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date care records.
Help ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for all residents.
Provide companionship and emotional support.
Follow all safeguarding, infection control, and health & safety procedures.
Respect residents' rights, privacy, dignity, and independence at all times.
Requirements

Previous experience within a care setting is preferred but not essential.
SVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care, or willingness to work towards a relevant qualification.
A kind, patient, and empathetic approach to care.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays where required.
Right to work in the UK.
Desirable Attributes

First Aid and Manual Handling training.
Understanding of dementia care and the needs of older people.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond appropriately in emergency situations.
