About the Role

Zest Education is working closely with one of our partner secondary schools in South Birmingham to recruit a qualified Science Teacher for a long-term supply placement from October 2026 until Easter 2027.

This role will include full planning and marking responsibilities and involves delivering the Science curriculum across KS3 and KS4, with the potential to teach your specialist subject area depending on experience and school requirements.

The school is well-supported, organized, and places a strong emphasis on consistency, student engagement, and progress.

Key Responsibilities

* Plan and deliver high-quality Science lessons in line with the national curriculum

* Teach Science across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable but not essential)

* Complete planning, marking, and assessment responsibilities

* Track pupil progress and provide constructive feedback

* Maintain strong classroom behaviour and routines

* Work collaboratively within the Science department

Requirements

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential

* PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification

* A degree in Science or a related subject

* Strong subject knowledge across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics

* Experience teaching secondary Science within the UK curriculum

* Confident behaviour management and classroom presence

* Ability to commit to the full duration of the placement
