Children’s Residential Team Leader (Level 3 Qualified) – Driver Essential
Contract: Temporary to Permanent
Location: Colne
Job Summary
We are seeking a caring, resilient, and experienced Children’s Residential Team Leader to join our team in Colne. This is a rewarding opportunity to lead and support staff and young people within a residential care setting supporting children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
The successful candidate will take a leading role in supporting young people’s daily routines, emotional wellbeing, education, and personal development while ensuring high standards of care and support within the home.
Duties
* Lead and support staff in delivering high-quality care for children and young people with EBD.
* Support daily routines, personal development, and educational engagement.
* Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and safeguarding best practice.
* Build strong, trusting relationships with young people and act as a positive role model.
* Support staff with behaviour management and de-escalation strategies.
* Oversee shift planning and ensure consistency across the team.
* Ensure a safe, structured, and nurturing environment at all times.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues, professionals, and external agencies.
* Participate in shift work including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.
Shift Pattern
2 days on, 4 days off
(Including evenings, weekends, and sleep-in shifts)
Qualifications & Requirements
* Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare or equivalent (essential).
* Previous experience working with children or young people in residential care, youth work, or education.
* Experience supporting young people with EBD is highly desirable.
* Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional in challenging situations.
* Full UK driving licence is essential.
* Ability to lead by example and support a team effectively.
