A well-established main contractor is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to take a lead commercial role on a major £55m cut and carve redevelopment with significant commercial fit out elements in Bristol.
This is a key project within a busy regional portfolio, offering a high level of ownership and direct exposure to senior leadership.
The role can be offered on either a fixed-term contract or permanent basis, depending on preference.
The Opportunity
You will take full commercial responsibility for the project, working closely with operational and project leadership teams to ensure successful delivery from procurement through to final account.
This is a complex, high-value scheme requiring a commercially strong individual who can confidently manage change, subcontractor performance, and project risk.
Key Responsibilities
Leading all commercial and quantity surveying activities on a £55m project
Subcontract procurement and package management
Valuations, cost reporting, forecasting and cash flow management
Managing variations, change control and compensation events
Contract administration and risk management
Supporting project teams to protect commercial performance
Final account negotiation and project close-out
About You
Experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor or strong QS ready to step up
Background with a main contractor essential
Proven experience on large-scale refurbishment, cut & carve, or fit out projects
Comfortable delivering projects of £20m+ (ideally higher)
Strong contractual knowledge and commercial judgement
Able to take ownership of a live project with minimal supervision
