Waking Night Support Worker – South East England
Are you passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people? We are seeking dedicated Waking Night Support Workers to join a newly established residential care setting in the PR3 area of Preston.
This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a team that supports children and young people with complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Conditions, in a setting committed to high standards of care and education.
Position Overview
The Waking Night Support Worker role involves providing overnight care and support to children and young people aged 8 to 18 years. You will be essential in ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being throughout the night, helping to create a nurturing and safe environment.
We are looking for full-time waking night positions (40 hours a week) 4 x 10 hour shifts and also a part-time waking night position (20 hours a week) 2 x 10 hour shifts
Key Responsibilities
* Provide high-quality overnight care, ensuring the safety and well-being of children and young people
* Support behavioural management and encourage positive routines
* Maintain accurate records and promote safeguarding best practices
* Build trusting relationships and promote independence and life skills development
* Contribute to creating a welcoming, inclusive, and structured environment
Essential Requirements
* Full UK driving licence is necessary for this role
* Passion for supporting young people and their development
* No formal qualifications are required, but a proactive approach and commitment to safeguarding are essential
Desirable Skills and Qualifications
* Experience working with children or young people, especially those with complex needs or within residential care
* Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures
* NVQ or equivalent in Health & Social Care or equivalent (desirable but not essential)
