We are seeking a Science Teacher to join a secondary school in the Southport area on a maternity cover basis from September 2026 until May 2027.

The school is looking to appoint an experienced Science Teacher who can make an immediate impact within the department and deliver high-quality lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. However, strong Early Career Teachers (ECTs) will also be considered.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive Science department and work within a school that is committed to helping students achieve their full potential.

The Role

Teaching Science across KS3 and KS4.
Planning and delivering engaging and well-structured lessons.
Assessing, monitoring and supporting student progress.
Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Working collaboratively with colleagues within the Science department.
The Ideal Candidate

Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
Has experience teaching Science within a secondary school setting.
Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and effective classroom management.
Has high expectations for student achievement and behaviour.
Can build positive relationships with students, staff and parents.
