A well-established construction consultancy are now seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their Essex office. The Quantity Surveyor will deliver professional quantity surveying services across a range of residential, commercial and mixed-use projects. This Quantity Surveyor role offers the opportunity to manage schemes from inception to completion while developing within an experienced quantity surveying team. The Quantity Surveyor will be based in Essex and will work closely with clients, contractors and fellow quantity surveyors to ensure effective commercial delivery.

The Company?
The successful Quantity Surveyor will be joining an independent construction consultancy with a strong presence across Essex and the surrounding regions. The Quantity Surveyor will support a varied client base, providing cost management and quantity surveying services across multiple sectors. This Quantity Surveyor opportunity offers structured progression and exposure to both pre and post contract work.

The Role
As the Quantity Surveyor you will take responsibility for the commercial management of projects throughout the project lifecycle.

The role will include:
Preparation of cost plans and detailed budgets
Providing pre and post contract quantity surveying services
Managing procurement and tender documentation
Contract administration under JCT forms of contract
Preparation of valuations, variations and final accounts
Attending client and design team meetings
Supporting Senior Quantity Surveyors on larger schemes

The Quantity Surveyor?
You will be a commercially aware Quantity Surveyor with experience in the UK construction market.

The Quantity Surveyor must have:
A degree in Quantity Surveying or a relevant construction discipline
Progress towards MRICS or interest in achieving chartership
Experience delivering residential or commercial projects
Knowledge of JCT contracts
Strong communication and client-facing skills
Ability to manage projects with minimal supervision

In return……?
£40,000 - £50,000 pa (dependant on experience)
