Lead Civil Engineer

Our client, a growing engineering consultancy in the water sector, is currently seeking a Lead Civil Engineer to deliver and lead design work across UK water projects. This is a contract position based in Manchester, with remote working options available.

Key Responsibilities:

Providing technical leadership to the civil design team
Managing water and wastewater projects, including UMON upgrades, CSOs, and pipelines
Leading both outline and detailed design phases
Ensuring compliance with standards and regulations during all project phases
Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project delivery
Mentoring junior engineers and supporting their professional development
Maintaining client relationships and ensuring high levels of satisfaction
Preparing detailed technical reports and presentations

Job Requirements:

Experience in civil engineering, particularly within the water sector
Proven background in design and technical leadership
Strong understanding of working with regulated water companies
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong problem-solving abilities
Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification
