Assistant Site Manager – Residential Development | Birmingham (B17)

Location: Birmingham, B17
Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 (DOE)

Join a Growing Residential Construction Team

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Assistant Site Manager to join a residential development project in Birmingham. Working alongside an experienced Site Manager, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of a residential scheme with significant groundworks packages.

This position is ideal for someone looking to further develop their career within residential construction while gaining exposure to all aspects of site management and project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

* Support the Site Manager in the day-to-day management of the construction site.

* Coordinate subcontractors, site labour, and agency staff to ensure efficient project delivery.

* Assist with programme management to keep works on schedule and maximise productivity.

* Monitor and maintain high standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance.

* Conduct regular quality inspections and resolve construction-related issues as they arise.

* Assist in managing subcontractor performance and site operations.

* Maintain accurate site records and document control procedures.

* Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the required quality standards.

* Support the implementation and maintenance of company policies, procedures, and management systems.

What We're Looking For

* 3–5 years' experience working on UK residential construction projects.

* Strong knowledge and practical experience of groundworks and residential developments.

* Previous experience in an Assistant Site Manager, Site Supervisor, or similar role.

* Excellent organisational, communication, and coordination skills.

* Ability to work proactively, take ownership, and use initiative on site.

* Good commercial awareness and a results-driven approach.

* Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.

* Full UK driving licence.

* Relevant CSCS and site management certifications/cards.
