Location: Staffordshire, fully site based
Salary: £50k to £60k per annum with £6k car allowanceOther benefits: 5% pension contribution, 3% employee, 5% annual bonus based on company performance, 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays and Christmas New Year closure, private healthcare

The Role

We are seeking a technically capable and detail driven Operations Manager for a specialist pharmaceutical organisation focused on quality-of-life therapies. This role is responsible for the oversight, integration, and continuous improvement of core operational systems, ensuring all business activities are delivered efficiently, securely, and in full compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards.

You will take ownership of operational governance, quality systems, and infrastructure, ensuring alignment across finance, IT, HR, and facilities. This is a hands-on role with significant autonomy, requiring a structured and systems led approach to managing a highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Governance and Compliance
Develop, implement, and maintain company policies, procedures, and operational frameworks
Ensure ongoing compliance with legal, regulatory, and industry specific requirements
Act as the central point of coordination with external advisors including legal, regulatory, and compliance specialists

Quality Management Systems, ISO 9001
Maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System in line with ISO 9001:2015 standards
Carry out monthly audits

Complying with external auditors and preparing for annual audits

Facilities and Site Operations
Oversee day to day site operations, ensuring facilities meet health, safety, and regulatory standards
Manage supplier relationships, contracts, and maintenance schedules to maintain operational continuity

IT Infrastructure and Systems Management
Own relationships with outsourced IT providers, ensuring service delivery, system performance, and security compliance
Support implementation and optimisation of business systems including Microsoft 365 and associated platforms
Lead IT and security initiatives such as Cyber Essentials, system upgrades, and infrastructure improvements

Finance Systems and Controls
Manage financial operations including accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, and pension administration
Oversee financial reporting processes and internal controls, working closely with external accountants to ensure compliance and accuracy

HR Systems and People Operations
Manage HR systems and employee data, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and reporting capability
Oversee structured recruitment, onboarding, and training processes
Support employee relations

About You

Comfortable working autonomously while managing cross functional systems and processes
Strong attention to detail, particularly in compliance, documentation, and process control
Commercially aware with a focus on efficiency, scalability, and risk mitigation

Skills and Experience

Experience within pharmaceutical or similarly regulated environments
Background in operations, business, or office management with exposure to systems and compliance frameworks
Understanding of IT infrastructure, service delivery models, and cyber security principles
Experience working with ISO 9001 or equivalent quality management systems
