There is an exciting opportunity to join Bellway, one of the UK’s largest house builders. Our West Midlands Division is looking to recruit an Architectural Technician to join the Division’s Technical team.

The Role

The role of Architectural Technician will be to support Senior Architectural Technician and the wider business including our Construction, Commercial and Sales teams in the execution of construction projects through ongoing support and timely delivery of accurate architectural and technical information.

Principle accountabilities of the role include:

Development & maintenance of divisional details and specifications

Production of working pack drawings

Working alongside external consultants and suppliers to ensure complete design solution delivered in line with company standards

Support the upkeep of our Drawing Management system

Support site teams and colleagues with information requests

Attend site-based meetings / audits as and when required

Keep up to date with CDM and CPD responsibilities specific to the role

Maintain up to date with legislation and regulations as well as understanding future regulations that are coming into effect within the industry

Support, mentor and manage Trainee and Graduate Technicians

Experience, Qualifications and Skills

Experience

Experience of working with Autodesk Revit & AutoCAD is desirable

Experience working within the housebuilding industry in a technical / architectural function, running numerous projects simultaneously

Knowledge of building regulations and current NHBC standards

Qualifications and Training

Qualified to degree level or HNC/HND in a Construction / Architectural Technology subject with relevant experience

CSCS card or equivalent

Current full driving licence

Skills and Aptitude

Strong communication, listening, presentation skills and excellent attention to detail

Ability to be able to express technical information in a clear and concise manner

Methodical, conscientious, organised and works to deliver high standards

Ability to recognise problems and deal with them in a speedy and effective manner

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Ability to problem solve and delegate effectively

Proficient IT skills along with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and outlook) and the ability to adapt to new systems

Working Conditions

Office based role with regular travel to development sites and for meetings

Willing to be flexible in respect to day-to-day duties and hours worked
