Equipment Shift Technician / Maintenance Technician
Permanent | Newport, South Wales | £30,000 - 34,000 + Shift Allowance (up to 50%)
We are recruiting Equipment Shift Technicians / Maintenance Technicians to join Vishay, a global semiconductor manufacturer, at their modern manufacturing facility in Newport.
This is a hands‑on engineering technician role offering full training, long‑term job security, and genuine career progression in advanced manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
Preventive and reactive maintenance of production equipment
First‑line fault finding and troubleshooting
Supporting equipment up-time and manufacturing performance
Working in a clean-room manufacturing environment
Following standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Working closely with Engineers and other TechniciansShift Pattern
12‑hour shifts - days or nights
Days: 7am-7pm | Nights: 7pm-7am
Fixed shift patterns
Enhanced shift allowance paidSkills & Experience (Training Provided)
BTEC / HNC in Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or similar
Maintenance, technician, production, or manufacturing experience preferred
Ability to follow procedures and work safely
Willingness to work either day or night shifts
Semiconductor experience not requiredSalary & Benefits
£27,000-£31,000 basic + 20-50% shift allowance

Pension up to 7% employer contribution
