Syntech Recruitment are working with a leading precision engineering and manufacturing business to recruit a Machine Shop Estimator.

Machine Shop Estimator Responsibilities

Review customer enquiries, drawings and technical specifications

*

Prepare accurate manufacturing cost estimates and quotations

*

Develop optimum manufacturing methods and production strategies

*

Produce clear and professional customer quotations

*

Manage projects from enquiry stage through to contract completion

*

Conduct contract reviews ensuring all technical and commercial requirements are captured

*

Liaise with customers regarding technical and commercial queries

*

Source raw materials and subcontract services where required

*

Support supplier negotiations and cost reduction activities

Machine Shop Estimator Requirements

*

Apprenticeship-trained engineer or equivalent engineering qualification

*

Strong mechanical engineering background

*

Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation

*

Experience within precision engineering or manufacturing environments

*

Strong commercial awareness and customer-facing skills

*

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
