The Best Connection is currently recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer on behalf of one of our well-established manufacturing clients based in Sheffield.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to join a growing engineering environment where you will be responsible for maintaining and improving a range of manufacturing machinery.

The role will involve repairing and maintaining existing equipment as well as assisting with the refurbishment and build of specialist machinery. Our client has invested significantly in new equipment in recent years and is continuing to modernise older machinery across the site.

Working hours: Days
Salary: £40000 - £43,600 per year
Job Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

Fault finding, repair, maintenance and improvement of electrical and mechanical issues on manufacturing equipment.

Working on a range of machinery including CNC, PLC, HMI and conventional machine tools.

Supporting engineers on site with refurbishment, automation and rebuild projects.

Working alongside production teams to introduce routine and operator maintenance procedures.

Ensuring all work is carried out in line with health & safety regulations and site procedures.

Supporting maintenance of regulatory equipment to ensure insurance inspections are completed at required intervals.

Essential Requirements

Recognised Engineering Qualification

Time-served apprenticeship or relevant engineering industry experience

Basic mechanical knowledge including hydraulics, pneumatics and power transmission

Strong problem-solving and fault-finding ability

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Commitment to safe working and continuous improvement

Desirable (but not essential)

PLC programming experience

FLT or Cherry Picker licence / working at height experience

Experience with lifting & slinging or machine moving
