Governance Officer

Macclesfield - Agile Working

Salary up to £34,000

37 Hours per week

We’re a housing provider in Macclesfield with over 5,000 properties across East Cheshire and the surrounding areas. We’re ambitious, with plans to build more homes, regenerate local areas and continue investing in our properties. We provide housing to those in housing need and aim to be a great landlord for our customers.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Governance Officer to join our Business Assurance team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in governance within a supportive and forward-thinking organisation. Working closely with the Governance Manager and Head of Business Assurance, you’ll play a key role in supporting the effective operation of the Trust’s governance framework and helping ensure we meet regulatory, legal and best practice requirements.

The role will involve supporting the Trust’s Board and Committees through the co-ordination of agendas, reports and Board papers, attending meetings, producing high-quality minutes and maintaining accurate action logs. You’ll also support governance reporting, internal assurance processes, policy management and audit administration, while building strong relationships with Board Members, Executive Directors and senior colleagues across the organisation.

We’re looking for someone who is highly organised, proactive and detail-focused, with excellent communication and administrative skills. Experience of working in a governance, compliance, administration or company secretarial environment would be beneficial, although we’re equally interested in candidates who are eager to learn and develop within governance.

This role offers genuine development opportunities and the potential to progress into a more senior governance role over time.

We can offer you:

* A 25 days holiday per year (plus bank holidays)

* A great pension scheme that’s designed to suit your needs

* Agile working providing homeworking and flexibility of working hours.

* A focus on your health and wellbeing including access to our Health Cash Plan offering a variety of benefits and discounts.

* Training and development opportunities – let us help you reach your career goals.

* A modern office with a friendly working environment.

* A state-of-the-art modern office with a friendly working environment

Our values are at the core of everything we do, so we’re looking for someone whose values align with ours and who will help embed these across the Trust.

We are one team with one goal. We are solution focused, customer focused but business minded, reliable and respectful. We value our people and care about our customers, and it’s an exciting time to join the Trust as we continue to grow from strength to strength.

If you’d like to play a key role in supporting good governance and making a positive difference across the Trust, we’d love to hear from you
