Climate Change Manager
Contract: 3 Months Initially (Ongoing Potential)
Rate: £250 - £300 per day (Umbrella)
Location: Morden, South London
Working Pattern: Hybrid - 3 Days Office / 2 Days Home
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Climate Change Manager to join a forward-thinking local authority on an initial 3-month contract with strong potential for extension.
This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving climate action across the borough, leading strategic programmes, securing funding and managing a specialist climate team.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development and delivery of climate strategies, action plans and annual programmes
Manage and motivate a specialist climate and sustainability team
Act as the lead advisor on climate change matters to senior stakeholders and elected members
Secure external funding and develop innovative financing solutions for climate initiatives
Build strong partnerships with residents, businesses, community groups and external agencies
Oversee climate, energy, retrofit and sustainability projects across the organisationEssential Requirements
Significant experience leading climate change, sustainability or net zero programmes
Strong understanding of climate mitigation, adaptation and low-carbon initiatives
Proven experience managing teams and delivering complex projects to deadline
Demonstrable success securing grants, funding or investment opportunities
Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills
Degree-level qualification in a relevant field or substantial equivalent experiencePackage
