Position : Maintenance Engineer
Location : Hull, Beverley, Cottingham
Hours : Permanent afternoons. Monday to Thursday 1.00 pm to 10.00 pm plus 2.5 hours to be worked on a Friday
Salary : £37,000 - £40,000
Bias : Happy to consider mechanical, electrical or multiskilled
About the role
Reactive and preventative maintenance of a wide range of production machinery and equipment.
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to ensure equipment reliability
Respond quickly to breakdowns, carrying out fault finding and repairs
Diagnose and resolve issues on mechanical and electrical systems according to your specialism
Install and commission new machinery and equipment
Identify root causes of faults and implement long-term solutions
Experience working with automated production equipment is preferred
Support production to achieve OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) targets and work to minimise downtime and improve machine performance
Identify and implement improvements to increase efficiency and reliability
Work in line with ISO 45001, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards
Follow safe systems of work, permits, and LOTO procedures
About You
Ideally apprentice trained with either Mechanical or electrical qualifications with strong fault finding skills
Experience in a maintenance engineering role within manufacturing is essential
Knowledge of preventative maintenance (PPM) and of using CMMS
Understanding of health & safety practices
Good problem-solving ability and attention to detail
