Full time - 42 hours per week, based at Flitwick site.

As our Engineer, you will:

* Provide fast and efficient installation, diagnostics, repairs and preventive maintenance to all the machinery, plant and equipment within the factory, keeping the Senior Works Engineer fully informed and up-to-date;

* Carry out basic electrical fault diagnosis and repairs;

* Work with the Senior Works Engineer to facilitate large or major repairs to plant and equipment;

* Assist in the development and implementation of a planned maintenance programme in consultation with the Senior Works Engineer;

* Demonstrate the effectiveness of planned maintenance through reducing numbers of breakdowns and problem-free equipment installations;

* Purchase sundries, machine parts and services, in liaison with the Senior Works Engineer, with due regard for stock levels and overall budget;

* Arrange, assist and direct external contractors for specialist work or installations in consultation with the Senior Works Engineer and Operations Director;

* Participate in the technical aspects of capital investment decisions;

* Advise senior management on Health and Safety issues or concerns.

If you have the following skills and attributes, then we want to hear from you.

* Recent, relevant and proven experience as a maintenance engineer or similar role.

* Higher level qualification in engineering or manufacturing.

* Solid understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanics.

* Familiarity using various power and hand tools.

* Ability to stand for long hours and lift heavy loads.

* Problem-solving and organisational skills - a self-starter who is well organised, positive, flexible and highly motivated to get the job done efficiently and safely using own initiative, and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working hours and ability to work some overtime.

* Confident in communicating verbally and in writing in English
