A fantastic specialist school in Oxford are seeking a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as next week. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support primary and secondary-age pupils with additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, communication needs, learning disabilities, behaviour challenges and physical disabilities. This is an exciting role where no two days are the same.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
Encourage positive relationships and interactions between students.
Offer 1:1 and small-group support, adapting your approach to meet individual needs.
Use de-escalation techniques and restorative practices to support emotional regulation and behaviour management.
Assist children with their communication.
Support with daily routines, learning tasks, and sensory needs.
Contribute to the wider school community by supporting activities, trips, and enrichment opportunitiesThis is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant/Support Worker, or a Psychology/Criminology Graduate who is interested in building their career within Education. Career progression routes include becoming a Play Therapist, SEN Teacher, Speech and Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist and Educational Psychologist.
