Building Surveyor

A well established multi disciplinary consultancy is seeking a driven building surveyor to support the delivery of projects across the Education, Commercial and Residential sectors. The building surveyor will work closely with internal teams and external consultants, gaining exposure across both project management and building surveying instructions. This building surveyor role offers a clear path to develop technical and client facing skills within a collaborative environment. The building surveyor will be based in Essex with involvement across London and the surrounding counties. This opportunity is suited to a building surveyor looking to broaden their experience across project delivery and professional services.

The successful building surveyor will be joining a long established consultancy with over 40 years of experience delivering Project Management, Architecture and Building Surveying services. The organisation continues to grow its service offering and client base across the South East, maintaining a professional led approach to project delivery. The building surveyor will be part of a supportive team with a strong focus on collaboration and development.

The Role
As the building surveyor you will support the delivery of projects from inception through to completion, working alongside project management and technical teams.

The role will include:
* Liaising with education clients to establish project briefs and funding requirements
* Supporting the preparation of funding applications including SCA and CIF submissions
* Coordinating and reviewing specialist survey reports
* Assisting in the development of outline and detailed design solutions
* Preparing specifications and tender documentation
* Undertaking contract administration and employer's agent duties
* Producing project reports, site visit reports and health and safety documentation
* Supporting the delivery of building surveying instructions including condition surveys and defect analysis
* Collating and managing project documentation to support delivery

The Building Surveyor?
You will be a proactive and organised individual with a strong interest in both project delivery and professional building surveying services.

The Building Surveyor must have:
* A degree in Building Surveying or a related property discipline
* 2 to 3 years' experience within a building surveyor or project led role
* Experience working within Education, Commercial or Residential sectors
* Strong client facing skills and the ability to build relationships
* Ability to manage workload, meet deadlines and work both independently and within a team
* Good report writing and documentation skills
* Full UK driving licence
